P2p Workshops and Seminars
Since the joint seminar in Ramallah, we have conducted several workshops. In the spring there was a workshop for the school projects, and the main conclusions were that the teacher involved in school exchange programs between students defined a need for teachers to have a parallel process between teachers. This is in line with the program aims. School exchange program should involve all levels of the school and be an integrated part of the school philosophy. This is also the focus on the larger program in the S2S program.
The Adult Workshop was conduced in September focused on networking and media. The 6-7 of October there will be a workshop for youth in Gaza. About 25 participants form our youth project are expected to participate, and they will focus on the effects of the conflict for the young generation and what they as youth can do to build bridges between Israelis and Palestinians. They also want to focus on strengthening the co-operation between organizations working with youth in the Israeli and Palestinian Society.
The Capacity building Program
Since the joint meeting in Gaza 1997 the organizations supported by the program has been asking the program for capacity building both in order to enlarge the effects of the P2P projects in society. Through joint seminars and workshops we are strengthening both the program and the co-operating between organizations and projects. The Palestinian side also has been defining a need for strengthening their organizational skills in order to be more active in relation to well-established and active Israeli partners in the preparation, planning and reporting of projects .The NS and the PP2P office has evaluated projects and recognizes that more skills are needed on project financial management among the Palestinian organizations supported by the program. The PP2P office will be responsible and conduct a capacity building program.
The introduction and the first stage will focus on management and administration. PCP stipulates 15 seminars in their proposal and the time schedule is form October to April.
